ANKARA - Turkey`s state minister has indicated that exports by Turkish automotive sector rose 46 percent to 14.6 billion USD from January 1st to July 22nd, 2008.
Kursad Tuzmen received Ferit Sunneli, president of the Executive Board of Uludag Automotive and By-Industry Exporters` Association, and representatives of the automotive sector in Ankara.
Speaking at the meeting, State Minister Tuzmen said, "exports by Turkish automotive sector rose 46 percent to 14.6 billion USD from January 1st to July 22nd, 2008. Total exports are expected to be at least 27 billion USD by the end of the year."
"Turkey has become one of the countries in the EU having the highest rates of manufacturing in the automotive sector. In the next decade, Turkey will be one of the three biggest automotive manufacturers in the EU," Tuzmen added.
